Why Sports Massage?
60% of the horses body weight is muscle, it can take only 90 days for a small muscle injury to become apparent. By which point other muscles have become effected and cause more serious injury.
Massage can benefit the well being of the horse by relaxing tension and mental relaxation.
Just a few benefits of regular treatments are:-
- Increasing and improving circulation
- Enhance muscle tone and elasticity
- Prevent and relieve adhesions
- Increase range of movement
- Improve blood flow and oxygen
The old saying is prevention is better than cure. But when you horse doesn’t feel “right” what can sports therapy help with:-
- Reluctant to go forward
- Schooling issues ie failing to get correct canter lead
- Tilting head
- Snatching reins
It is important to listen to you horse.
